What If Your Most Powerful Move Right Now Was Doing… Nothing?
We chase action. But sometimes, the smartest step is the one where you stop - and breathe.
Sometimes, I just want to disappear.
Not build a brand.
Not engage.
Just… disappear.
Everywhere you look online:
“Build your personal brand! Post every day! Network! Collaborate! Grow your audience!”
And in those moments when I’m stretched too thin, I just want to hide under a blanket and turn off the entire internet.
If I’m honest, I say these things too. I write about how important it is to take steps, to move beyond your comfort zone, to keep going.
But here’s the question - what if I’ve hit that “squeezed-out lemon” stage where there’s just no more juice left to keep moving at the same pace?
When everything inside tightens up, and each “required step” feels like a concrete block on my shoulders.
When I can’t see a clear plan.
When anxiety drowns out enthusiasm.
When all I want is to sleep and eat ice cream mixed with spicy sausage.
Ever been there?
Here’s what people often forget…
Real strength isn’t about being “in the zone” every single day.
It’s about not beating yourself up when you’re not.
And it’s in those moments that we get to choose - in ways that change our path.
Sometimes the only thing you need is to stop fighting yourself
I know how it goes.
First, you’re just tired. Then, you scold yourself for doing nothing. Then comes the guilt.
And instead of rest, you end up in self-destruction.
But all your mind and body wanted was a little pause.
I had to learn to do it differently. Not right away. Not perfectly.
But this helps me find my way back:
1. I give myself permission to be “useless.”
Unproductive. Imperfect. Moody. Boring. Cookie-eating.
Sometimes I literally tell myself: “Today, you’re allowed to be a mess. And that’s fine.”
2. I don’t fight it - I give it a time slot.
An hour. Half a day. An evening.
Whatever I need to catch my breath. It’s not giving up - it’s recharging.
My mind and body aren’t my enemies. They’re just asking: “Please, don’t push. Let us breathe.”
3. I choose one small thing.
Just one.
Sometimes - it’s a shower. Sometimes - washing the dishes. Sometimes - stepping out into the light.
A small step that doesn’t take heroics, but starts movement.
You’re not lazy. You just need a pause.
It feels like such a personal, unique struggle, doesn’t it?
But the truth is - almost everyone’s been there.
They just don’t always talk about it.
We’re so used to believing our worth comes from doing.
But sometimes the most valuable thing you can do is… nothing.
Nothing but quiet for your mind, sleep to reset your thoughts, care for your body, and a pause for your spirit.
This isn’t motivation. It’s permission.
You don’t have to be super productive every day.
You don’t have to apologize for being tired.
You don’t have to be strong for everyone all the time.
If you feel like stopping - stop.
If you want to be alone - be alone.
If today you don’t feel like “growing and evolving” - that’s part of life too.
Sometimes, that’s exactly when real desire comes back.
Not forced. Just yours.

That’s what we’re here for, right?
A powerful reminder we all need.
Thank you for putting this out there.
Reminded me of the tip my trader acquaintance gave.
Sometimes, the best decision is to not enter the market.
